Korea Revises Baby Products Packaging Requirements

On Jan.9, 2019, Korea MFDS announced the revision to “Standard and Specification of Containers and Container Packages”, which mainly includes the following items:

The ban on the use of BPA (bisphenol A), DBP (dibutyl phthalate) and BBP (benzyl butyl phthalate) has been expanded from feeding bottle (including nipple) to infant and young children devices, containers and their package.

New standards are set for moisture-proof container which is made from polyethylene and polypropylene, designed for dried food products.

The updated standard clarifies the regulation on recycled synthetic resin that can be used in containers and package materials production.
