Bulgaria - The challenges of managing dangerous substances in the industrial sector

DATE: 02/11/2018. Region: Bulgaria. This seminar discusses the Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances campaign and its main objectives. It aims to raise awareness of the dangers posed by hazardous substances, particularly as many workers in Bulgaria’s industrial sector handle dangerous substances on a daily basis.  Speakers present the most common safety issues that occur in heavy and light industries, especially in the metallurgy sector. They discuss different approaches and solutions to reduce or even eliminate risks associated with dangerous substances in order to create safe and sustainable working environments.

Finally, speakers discuss recent changes to European and national legislation which aim to improve measures to reduce work-related accidents and occupational diseases connected to hazardous substances.
