Madrid, February 5, 2019.- The general director of the Business Federation of the Spanish Chemical Industry (Feique), Juan Antonio Labat and the president of the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (ADIF), Isabel Pardo, signed today at the Ministry of Promotion, together with the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing, Pedro Saura, an agreement establishing a Protocol of collaboration between these entities. The agreement, valid until December 2020, which can be extended up to 2022, is intended to contribute to the development and optimization of the transport of chemical products by rail, within the framework of the Strategic Plan of ADIF "Plan Transforma 2020".
ADIF, as responsible for the maintenance and operation of the railway infrastructures of state competence, as well as manager of its circulation and safety control system, has among its priority objectives the promotion of rail freight transport and the development of intermodality, aspects that are considered by Feique as a priority for the sector for its relevant role in the global transport system of chemical goods.
