Israel revises the Mandatory Standard SI 5562, dealing with the nickel release in contact with human skin. This standard will be replaced with 2 different standards as follows:

1. SI 1811 (January 2017) - Reference test method for release of nickel from all post assemblies which are inserted into pierced parts of the human body and articles intended to come into direct and prolonged contact with the skin: This draft standard revision adopts both the European Standard EN 1811: 2011 + A1: July 2015 and the American Standard ASTM F2923 - 14 and allows compliance with either. It includes the following national deviations that appear in the standard's Hebrew section: - Chapter A - Compliance with the European Standard: o Changes the normative references to fit Israel technical regulations; o Adds to paragraph 3 dealing with the terms and definitions a new definition 3.9 for long term contact with the skin. - Chapter B - Compliance with the American Standard: o Changes the standard's scope to apply only to nickel release; o Changes paragraph 2 dealing with the referenced documents to fit Israel technical regulations;

2. SI 16128 (June 2017) - Ophthalmic optics - Reference method for the testing of spectacle frames and sunglasses for nickel release: This draft standard revision adopts the European Standard EN 16128: November 2015 with the following national deviation that appear in the standard's Hebrew section: - Adds to paragraph 3 dealing with the terms and definitions a new definition 3.9 for long term contact with the skin.
