New report highlights emerging chemical and waste threats to the Arctic. Plastic marine litter, POPs, pesticides and pharmaceuticals among chemicals of emerging Arctic concern according to Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme report.
The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) Chemicals of Emerging Arctic Concern 2016 assessment was presented to Arctic Council Ministers in 2017 in the form of a Summary for Policy-makers document.
