Complying with the fast-evolving EU chemical legislative framework is becoming increasingly demanding, in particular for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Since its entry into force in June 2007, the REACH Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 has been updated several times; the lists of substances subject to restrictions (Annex XVII) or authorisation (Annex XIV) have grown, as has the list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). Other EU pieces of legislation have been adopted (e.g. CLP Regulation, Plant Protection Products Regulation, RoHS Directive, Biocidal Products Regulation).
Monitoring, keeping track and anticipating legislative changes is vital to avoid supply chain disruptions and to remain competitive on the market. This is valid not only for companies manufacturing or importing chemical substances, but also for downstream users and importers of mixtures and finished articles.
MyChemicalMonitoring is a web based IT tool that allows to perform the following actions with respect to a personalizable list of substances:
- to easily and efficiently monitor the legislative status of chemicals;
- to be kept constantly informed about legislative requirements and related obligations necessary to be in compliance with chemical laws;
- to monitor and anticipate legislative changes which could effect the use of chemicals (e.g. risk management measures, restrictions, authorisations, etc...) or which could lead to the introduction of new obligations (e.g. supply chain communication or notification obligations).
