On April 14, 2022, France notified a technical trade measure G/TBT/N/FRA/224 related to disposable plastic food containers.

The measure proposes a ban on certain single-use plastic food containers made of expanded or extruded plastic.

This measure complements the French Anti-Waste Law (AGEC law). The ban on expanded polystyrene food containers will be expanded to include extruded polystyrene and expanded/extruded polypropylene.
