China Releases "2023 Catalog of Strictly Restricted Toxic Chemicals"

China has officially issued the "2023 Catalog of Strictly Restricted Toxic Chemicals" as a part of its ongoing efforts to regulate and manage hazardous chemicals.

The new catalog is based on a series of decisions made by the National People's Congress Standing Committee regarding the approval of various international agreements related to persistent organic pollutants and hazardous chemicals. These agreements emphasize the importance of regulating and monitoring substances that can have detrimental effects on the environment and human health.

This latest release supersedes the previous "Catalog of Strictly Restricted Toxic Chemicals" from 2020, and it is set to be enforced immediately from the date of publication. The Chinese government's actions reflect its dedication to safeguarding the environment and public health by implementing stringent controls on the handling and trade of toxic chemicals.

The catalog, along with detailed guidelines for import and export procedures, is available to the public and relevant authorities, reinforcing China's commitment to international environmental protection efforts.
