Many workers in the EU are exposed to dangerous substances at their workplaces; however, in most cases, they are not aware that they are often exposed to carcinogens. The European Roadmap on Carcinogens makes an important contribution to raising awareness of carcinogenic substances and disseminating good practice. This event is the national closing event of the consultation and inspection campaign on silica dust, and will be held in German and English.

Experts from the Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy will provide detailed information about the pollutants. They will highlight the importance of adequate health protection, especially in mining and underground mining. Participants will also benefit from an overview of the legal situation in Austria.

Furthermore, good practice examples from institutions and companies will be presented. A panel discussion to explore practical implementation strategies will conclude proceedings.
