Main content
The guideline for the hygienic assessment of elastomers coming into contact with drinking water has already been notified under 2011/467/D. An addition was required to the positive list. The positive list contains all substances recommended in the Elastomer Guideline for the manufacture of elastomers in contact with drinking water. The references to the DVGW and Cert GmbH are deleted from the text of the guideline.
Brief Statement of Grounds
Directive 98/83/EC requires Member States to take all measures necessary to comply with the requirements of Article 10 of this Directive. Article 10 was transposed into German law in § 17 of the 2001 Drinking Water Regulation (TrinkwV). The proposed draft of the amended guideline defines these requirements for elastomer materials and is necessary to ensure the hygienic safety of drinking water supplies in Germany.
