In response to the Modernization of Cosmetic Regulation Act (MoCRA) of 2022, the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) has unveiled a comprehensive checklist resource. The MoCRA, signed into law on December 30th, 2022, introduced stringent regulatory requirements for cosmetics in the United States, including facility registration and product listing with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The PCPC-developed checklist aims to streamline communication and coordination among companies involved in cosmetic registration and listing processes. Businesses are encouraged to tailor the checklist to their unique needs, though it's important to note that ultimate compliance responsibility rests with the companies themselves.

Initially published in September 2023, the checklist arrives in anticipation of the FDA's acceptance of cosmetic registration and listing submissions, scheduled to commence in October 2023. While the FDA's final guidance and additional compliance details remain pending, PCPC commits to keeping the resource up-to-date with any forthcoming information from the FDA.
