The U.S. EPA has proposed new regulations under the Toxic Substances Control Act to protect workers and consumers from N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP). The proposed rule aims to limit NMP concentrations in consumer and commercial products, enforce strict workplace health controls, and ban unsafe uses of NMP. This solvent, used in electronics, automotive care, and cleaning products, poses serious health risks including reproductive and organ damage. Public comments on the proposal are invited for 45 days.
