The Munich Higher Regional Court condemns the online division of Europe's largest electrical retail chain to take back old lamps containing mercury free of charge and close to the consumer

The ruling is of a fundamental nature: Distances of 50 kilometers to the collection point and parcel shipping of old lamps containing mercury are not permitted

Deutsche Umwelthilfe requires online retailers to create a stationary drop-off point for electronic waste in each postcode area
