EEB | Briefing paper: tackling PFAS in drinking water

This EEB briefing paper is the culmination of extensive research on PFAS (‘forever chemicals’) pollution across 20 European countries, and specifically the effects of these substances in drinking water and food. It exposes a wide spectrum of approaches to monitoring and tackling this issue between countries studied, and offers some key recommendations for how to establish EU-wide coherence on policy concerning the production, use, reduction and monitoring of PFAS in water, as well as some important and timely suggestions about who ought to be footing the ever-rising bill of PFAS pollution.
