The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) updated its report on the research needs for regulating hazardous chemicals. The report highlights the need for more scientific research in areas like neurotoxicity, immunotoxicity, endocrine disruption, bioaccumulation, and developing new approach methodologies (NAMs). It also emphasizes improving methods for monitoring environmental pollution and shifting away from animal testing through alternatives like in vitro and in silico models. The update aligns with the EU's Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability and aims to enhance chemical safety regulations.
