Under the categorization exercise, triclosan was found to meet the ecological criteria. Triclosan as a pest control product was also scheduled for re-evaluation under Health Canada's PMRA pesticide re-evaluation program that considers potential risks, as well as value, of pesticide products to ensure they meet modern standards established to protect human health and the environment. The re-evaluation of triclosan was conducted as part of its preliminary assessment.
