One of the serious problems of environmental degradation in Mexico is solid waste and the inability of municipalities to carry out their proper management, said Julio Trujillo Segura, undersecretary for Environmental Development and Regulation, during his participation in the Dialogue: economy circular and recycling in times of COVID-19, organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

He explained that in the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador there is a new direction for environmental policy, and in these months of contingency, Semarnat put on paper an ambitious agenda with a comprehensive vision to expand and change the path towards an agro-ecological transition and, above all, achieve environmental governance.
