Import ban - Due to potential environmental and health concerns, the Israeli High Court of Justice approved the decision of the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MOEP) to ban the importation of coal ashIn particular, coal ash contains increased concentrations of designated heavy metals. Moreover, concerns have been raised regarding the rise of the level of exposure to long-term ionising radiation resulting from the ash. The use of coal ash in Israel, e.g. in the production of cement, is allowed. The section on Prohibited Imports has been modified accordingly.
