Basel/Rotterdam/Stockholm Conventions | Briefing on the outcomes of meeting of the Conference of the Parties

Objectives

The online briefings will provide an overview of the main outcomes and decisions of the recent meetings of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions that were held from 29 April to 10 May 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hosted under the headline "Clean Planet, Healthy People: Sound Management of Chemicals and Waste" country Parties agreed on more than 70 decisions addressing conventions specific issues and issues of joint concern at the largest ever meeting of the conventions to-date, attended by approximately 1,400 participants from around 180 countries.

Background

Government representatives and observers gathered in Geneva, Switzerland from 29 April to 10 May 2019 for the back-to-back meetings of the conferences of the Parties to the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions.
