Belgian plastics industry in the circular economy

The recycling of plastics in Belgium has increased by 54% since 2006, but recycled plastics are not yet fully used as raw material for the production of new products. This is apparent from a study on how far the Belgian plastics industry is in the circular economy. It is the first time that the degree of recycling of different types of plastics and the use of recycled material in different sectors has been detailed at the Belgian level. The results were announced on the Belgian Plastics Day, a joint organization of technology federation Agoria and essenscia, the chemical and life sciences sector federation.
