Alternative Test Methods and Strategies to Reduce Vertebrate Animal Testing | US EPA

EPA has developed a Strategic Plan to promote the development and implementation of alternative test methods and strategies to reduce, refine or replace vertebrate animal testing. The Strategic Plan incorporates input from two public meetings, written comments submitted on the draft strategic plan, and draws upon EPA research on test methods. Materials for the public meetings and the draft strategic plan can be found in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2017-0559. EPA has also created the List of Alternative Test Methods and Strategies (or New Approach Methodologies [NAMs]), which the Agency plans to update at least once a year.
