Pesticides found in three-quarters of fruit in France

A recent study published by the French NGO Générations Future revealed that 72.6% of non-organic fruit contained pesticide residues. The report, based on official data from the French General Directorate for Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF), looks at the presence of pesticide residues in samples from 19 fruit and 33 vegetables in France.

From 2012 to 2016, 72.6% of non-organic fruit and 41.1% of non-organic vegetables were contaminated by pesticides. Worryingly enough, 2.7% of fruit samples and 3.5% of vegetable samples displayed pesticide levels above the maximum residue limit (MRL).
