Mozambique is a member of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer and of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. In the context of the implementation of the mentioned conventions, ozone-depleting substances (ODS) have been banned from importation into Mozambique and from any other trade activity since 2010. These substances include chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), halogens and carbon tetrachloride. Air conditioning and refrigeration equipment the operability of which depends on these substances is also banned from importation.

Please also turn to the chapter on Prohibited Imports for more information on goods which may not be imported into Mozambique.
