ASTM International’s environmental assessment, risk management, and corrective action committee (E50) is looking to add participants to help revise two standards. The standards focus on conducting environmental baseline surveys (D6008) and classifying the environmental condition of property area types for disposition and transfer of federal facilities and property under Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) and other processes (D5746).
According to ASTM International member John Tabella, the committee determined a need to update these standards, at least in part, to help ensure that current best practices and concepts in one of ASTM International’s most widely-used standard, Phase I environmental site assessment process (E1527), are, in turn, incorporated into D6008 and D5746.
