ANSES | Classification of sodium 3- (allyloxy) -2-hydroxyproanesulphonate reprotoxic substance of category 1B

The substance,  sodium 3-(allyloxy)-2-hydroxypropanesulphonate, used in adhesives, paints and coatings, resins and water treatment products, can cause serious eye damage and impair fertility. In order to better inform and protect the health of consumers and workers, ANSES has submitted a classification proposal under the European CLP regulation (classification, labeling and packaging of products). If this classification is adopted, it would have direct consequences on the labeling of products containing this substance and on the conditions of use of it at European level. All stakeholders can currently contribute to this proposal, which is open for public consultation until December 3, 2021.
