France | Proposed Amendments to Eco-Organization Specifications for Construction Product and Material Producers

The draft ministerial decree proposes modifications to the specifications for eco-organizations and coordinating organizations within the extended producer responsibility (EPR) sector for construction products and materials. The amendments aim to:

• Implement a mechanism for distributing charges based on contributions to collection and recycling goals.
• Provide financial support for waste traceability.
• Facilitate free recovery of waste from construction companies.
• Establish a unified tool for simplified access to waste collection points.
• Review the deadline for studying persistent organic pollutants.

The decree, consisting of three articles and two annexes, is set to come into effect on July 1, 2024. Public consultation for this draft was held from April 18, 2024, to May 21, 2024, during which 15 responses were collected.
