Bangladesh Amendments as regards ozone-depleting substances (ODS)

Ozone-Depleting Substances 

Bangladesh is a member of the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer as well as the subsequent amendments of the latter. By way of example, the country ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on 8 June 2020. Along the provisions of said legal texts, Bangladesh has established regulations for the reduction and gradual elimination of ozone-depleting substances (ODS). Importers must apply for an import permit at the responsible authority prior to importing ODS into Bangladesh.
