On July 26, 2018, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) published a report investigating the migration of metals from enameled grill racks into different food simulants. In total, eight grill racks and two grill trays were tested and the migration of aluminium, antimony, arsenic, lead, cadmium, chromium, iron, cobalt, lithium, and nickel into four different food simulants was measured.
