The European Commission's delay in proposing a targeted revision of REACH, the EU's main legislation on chemicals, may have a damaging impact on the Green Deal's legacy, according to a report by the European Environmental Bureau and CHEM Trust.
The report analyzes the consequences of the delay and suggests that the current parliamentary term will have no chance to finish institutional negotiations before elections in 2024, delaying the REACH revision even further and creating uncertainty about the direction of the EU chemicals industry.
