SCCS - Minutes of the Working Group Meeting on Cosmetic Ingredients of 23 April 2021

The Minutes of the Working Group Meeting on Cosmetic Ingredients includes the following items:

New mandates

(*) DG GROW informed about a potential mandate on aggregate exposure to aluminium, which will cover the ‘other’ cosmetic products that were not included in the relevant SCCS Opinion on aluminium.

Draft Opinion discussed

(*) Methylsalicylate: a draft preliminary Opinion has been discussed and a revised version will be discussed at the next May WG meeting.

(*) Prostaglandin and analogues: a draft preliminary Opinion has been discussed and a revised version will be discussed at the next May WG meeting.

(*) C054 hair dye: a revised version of the draft preliminary Opinion has been discussed, including the new study sent by the Applicant. The preliminary Opinion is planned to be finalised at the next April meeting and adopted by written procedure.

(*) Scientific advice on the threshold for the warning ‘contains formaldehyde’ in Annex V: a draft was discussed and is planned to be finalised at the next April meeting and adopted by written procedure.

(*) Genistein / Daidzein: the dossier was presented by the rapporteurs and task distributed among members.

(*) 4-Methylbenzylidene camphor (4-MBC): the dossier was presented by the rapporteurs and task distributed among members.

(*) Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT): the file will be discussed at the next WG meeting on 27 April.

(*) Kojic acid: the file will be discussed at the next WG meeting on 27 April.

(*) Revision of the Vitamin A Opinion: the file will be discussed at the next WG meeting on 27 April.
