Rotterdam Convention webinars | Briefings on the proposal to amend Articles 7, 10, 11 and 22

On 27 October 2022, the Secretariat communicated to Parties the proposal by Australia, Mali and Switzerland to amend Articles 7, 10, 11 and 22 of the Convention and to add a new Annex VIII, along with its explanatory note. Burkina Faso, Colombia, Georgia, Ghana and Republic of Maldives subsequently joined as co-sponsors of the proposal.

In addition, the proponents have published a brochure and produced a short video to explain their proposal. The video is available in English, French and Spanish:

The objective of these webinars is for the proponents and co-sponsors to provide information on the proposal to amend Articles 7, 10, 11 and 22 of the Rotterdam Convention and to add a new Annex VIII.
