Biopesticides – approval criteria for microbial active substances | Feedback period 26 October 2021 - 23 November 2021

One of the aims of the EU’s ‘farm to fork’ strategy is to reduce dependency on chemical pesticides. This includes making it easier to place biological active substances on the market, including microorganisms.

This initiative will specify approval criteria for microbial active substances in Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009. The aim is to reflect the particularities of these substances, which are different from chemical substances.
