Today, five organisations joined the ZDHC Foundation, a coalition of over 70 contributors, working together on the implementation of safer chemistry practices to protect consumers, workers and the environment.

By joining ZDHC, these organisations will be supporting ZDHC’s goal of widespread implementation of sustainable chemistry in the textile, leather and footwear industries. One of the main objectives of ZDHC is to reduce duplication and confusion of standards within the value chain, and as ZDHC Executive Director Frank Michel notes, collaboration is key to achieving this:

"The ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme represents a wide range of organisations and interests, but we have all joined forces because we believe so strongly in the need of a unified chemical management system to support the global textile, footwear and value chains. I am very pleased to welcome the five new organisations to ZDHC and to this worthwhile cause."

Joining ZDHC, these organisations commit to working collaboratively on the development and implementation of ZDHC tools. These include amongst others a  Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), Wastewater Guidelines and two platforms: the ZDHC Academy and the ZDHC Gateway - Chemical Module and Wastewater Module.

All five organisations join the value chain affiliate category.
