This specification covers the requirements for the compound and physical characteristics of homogeneous (Type I) and layered (Type II) rubber sheet floor covering with backing. Both types shall be fibrous and foamed rubber, and may also contain intermediate layers. They may either have smooth, embossed, or molded pattern surfaces, and shall not contain asbestos.
