EU Commission Amends Cosmetic Regulation to Include Nine New Ingredients; Takes Effect in April 2024



On April 3, 2024, the EU Commission announced in the Official Journal of the EU the amendment of the Annexes to the EU Cosmetic Products Regulation (CPR) to include nine cosmetic ingredients. The updated regulation encompasses UV filter 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, genistein, daidzein, kojic acid, retinol, retinyl acetate, retinyl palmitate, alpha arbutin, arbutin, triclosan, and triclocarban. Transition periods have been established for these changes. The regulation will become effective on the twentieth day after its publication.
