The additive AviMatrix^® Z is a preparation of benzoic acid, calcium formate and fumaric acid and is authorised as a feed additive in chickens for fattening and reared for laying. The applicant has requested to extend the use of the additive to all avian species other than laying birds at a concentration range from 500 to 1,000 mg/kg of complete feed. The safety of the additive was previously assessed by the FEEDAP Panel that concluded that there were no concerns for the consumers and no risks for the environment.
