In view of the Danish consumer's uncertainty about the quality of pellets and briquettes, the present MUDP project intends to develop a multivariate statistical calculation tool for identifying pellets and briquettes containing unsurfilled fillers. Since quality analyzes of different types of wood and briquettes did not detect significant differences between the pill types, such a tool was irrelevant. On the other hand, the present project has found that the quality of the pellets examined is higher than expected and is at the same quality level as certified pills collected in Europe despite the fact that the pills examined are not certified. The project concludes that in general there has been a ripening of the Danish wood pellet and briquette market, for both small and large well-organized wood pellet retailers in relation to the quality of the product and the supplier.
