Canada has proposed a new maximum residue limit (MRL) for the pesticide mandestrobin in various types of lettuce. The proposed MRLs have been listed by Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) and are open for consultation. Mandestrobin is a fungicide used to control various diseases in crops such as vegetables, fruits, and cereals. The proposed MRLs aim to ensure that the levels of mandestrobin in lettuce and other crops do not exceed the specified limit of 4.0 parts per million (ppm) for leaf lettuce and 0.08 ppm for head lettuce. This notification has been made under the World Trade Organization's Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement).
