Indian Government Implements Quality Control Measures for Welding Product

The draft order pertains to the mandatory quality control of welding wires, rods, and electrodes in India. The order requires that these goods conform to corresponding Indian Standards and bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards. The order exempts goods manufactured domestically meant for export and those manufactured domestically by micro and small enterprises meeting certain investment and turnover criteria. The order will come into force six months from the date of publication, except for micro and small enterprises, for which it will come into force twelve months from the date of publication.
