Summary:
The EU’s rules on end-of-life vehicles aim to:
(*) make dismantling, recycling and reusing these vehicles more environmentally friendly
(*) push manufacturers to make new vehicles without hazardous substances, so their parts can later be reused.
This evaluation assesses how well the EU’s rules are working and whether they are delivering the expected benefits for the environment, the public and industry.
