China Releases Regulation on Management of Toothpaste Registration Data

The National Medical Products Administration of China (NMPA) has released the "Regulation on Management of Toothpaste Registration Data" on November 22, 2023. This regulation defines the types and contents of data required for registering toothpaste in China.

According to the regulation, the following data must be submitted for toothpaste registration

(*) Quality and safety assessment report of toothpaste

(*) List and content of toothpaste ingredients

(*) Manufacturing process and equipment of toothpaste

(*) Labeling and advertising of toothpaste

In addition, there are restricted or prohibited ingredients in toothpaste, and it is necessary to ensure that these ingredients are not included.

This regulation will come into effect on January 1, 2024.
