As of April 26, 2024, the Government of Ontario has released updated registry procedures for the management of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE), Batteries, and Tires on the Environmental Registry of Ontario (ERO). These updates are in accordance with the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 (RRCEA), specifically under Section 103(5). The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA) has detailed these procedures, which have been shared with producers to guide them through the audit and verification processes for the 2024 reporting season. Access to these procedures is available through direct links provided for each category (Batteries, EEE, and Tires) on the ERO website. For further details, the RPRA consultation page offers more information.
