An offer of special support to retailers of candidate list substances and a new digital tool to get a handle on the chemistry in the supply chain. These are two new initiatives that the Danish Environmental Protection Agency is now launching. The purpose is to get more companies to use the AskREACH database behind the Check Chemistry app.

Is there harmful chemistry in the T-shirt I have been hot on? Or in the inflatable swimming pool, which the kids have to frolic in this summer? And what about the new shower curtain? Is there nothing wrong with it being treated with bactericides?

With the Check Chemistry app installed on a smartphone, consumers in a preliminary 15 European countries can scan the barcode on products like these and get answers on whether they contain candidate list substances, the so-called Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) or not.
