According to the report of European Commission Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products, this week several products have been found non compliant with EU legislation. This included:
(*) Liquid for e-cigarettes (Brand: Bunkerbase & Co). The product contains nicotine (190 mg/ml), which is acutely toxic, but lacks both an adequate safety label bearing risk-related indications as well as a child-resistant fastening. The product does not comply with the requirements of European CLP regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
(*) Water balloons. he amount of nitrosatable substances released by the balloons is too high (measured value up to 1.78 mg/kg). Nitrosamines can be carcinogenic via inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toy Safety Directive.l
(*) Hair styling gel (Brand: Kallos cosmetics) - The gel contains methychloroisothiazolinone (MCI) and methylisothiazolinone (MI). Dermal contact with MCI and MI containing products can provoke allergic contact dermatitis to sensitised persons. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
(*) Plastic doll (Brand: HAP PY) - The plastic material of the doll contains diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP) (measured value: 13.3% by weight). This phthalate may cause possible damage to the liver. The product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
(*) Mascara (Brand: Infiniment vous) - The product contains zirconium, cobalt and chromium (measured values 0.3%, 0.025% and 0.09% by weight, respectively). Their presence is forbidden in the Cosmetic Products Regulation. The product does not comply with the Cosmetic Products Regulation.
