China's National Health and Health Commission Accelerates Construction of Traceability System for Botulinum Toxin Type A Injection

The National Health and Health Commission of the General Department of the State Food and Drug Administration in China is accelerating the construction of a traceability system for botulinum toxin type A for injection.

The notice released on the 19th of January requires drug marketing authorization holders and domestic agents of imported drugs to complete the assignment of codes to sales packaging units by February 28, 2023 and for pharmaceutical distribution enterprises and user units to complete the maintenance of basic information in the traceability system by March 31, 2023 and May 31, 2023 respectively. The traceability system will be used to ensure the safety of public medication and to meet the requirements of the "14th Five-Year Plan" National Drug Safety and Promotion of High-Quality Development Plan.
