The Canadian Department of the Environment has announced its intention to amend the Domestic Substances List under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. The proposed amendment aims to indicate that subsection 81(3) of the Act applies to three substances specified in the notice. The Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health have conducted a screening assessment on these substances and suspect that information regarding significant new activities related to these substances may contribute to determining their toxicity. The public is invited to provide comments on this proposal within 60 days. The final screening assessment and additional information can be obtained from the Government of Canada's website.
