Ethyl alpha acetylphenylacetate (EAPA) is used in illegal drug production.
This initiative aims to schedule EAPA as a category 1 drug precursor. This means operators, other than customs agents and transporters that are established in the EU, need a license and authorisation to import or export EAPA. Operators and users also need a license to possess or to place EAPA on the market. It will also provide national authorities with the legal basis needed to act once discovering this substance.
