4-tert-butylphenol meets the criteria for its identification as a substance of very high concern in accordance with Article 57(f) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 due to its endocrine disrupting properties whose effects on the environment give rise to an equivalent concern to other substances of very high concern. The objective of this draft is to identify 4-tert-butylphenol as a substance of very high concern due to these properties and to include that substance in the Candidate List referred to in Article 59(1) of REACH.
