Almost two years after the entry into force of the presidential decree to gradually dispense with the use, acquisition, distribution, promotion and import of glyphosate and transgenic corn, the government of Mexico, through different agencies and entities that make up the Federal Public Administration ( APF), presented achievements and advances in favor of health, sustainable food and care for biocultural diversity.

Representatives of the secretariats of the Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat), Health, Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader), Welfare, the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and the Intersecretarial Commission for Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms (Cibiogem ), agreed that the findings to eliminate the use of glyphosate are sustainable, safe, and culturally appropriate, and that they do not put the country's agri-food production at risk.
