The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced a proposed set of regulations to manage hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) in accordance with the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020. The rules would include requirements for leak repair, automatic leak detection systems, and the use of reclaimed and recycled HFCs in specific sectors. Additionally, the EPA seeks input on technician training and certification standards. A virtual public hearing is scheduled for around November 3, 2023.
